Films in 50 words-ish: City of God (Cidade de Deus)

Buy it!A beautifully shot ensemble piece, City of God’s characters are the most violent the ghetto can offer. Drawing them cartoon style, against a golden background entertains us, but also dulls any wider message. Nevertheless, it’s there; born in this ghetto there is only way to live.
