With Capturing the Friedmans sold out, the Vague Film Club ended up seeing El otro lado de la cama (The Other Side of the Bed). A musical rom-com that cuts to the song and dance routines – all a bit 1970s TOTP – rather than blending them with the narrative. The story line is similarly uninspired and, unfortunately for us, the music’s from the Spanish 1980s hit parade and loses everything in translation.
A cringing 2 out of 10.
