Manchester Evening News: where are you?

Click to see ‘Manchester Evening News: where are you?’ in a variety of different sizesI thought picking Katharine up from Piccadilly Station last night would be a great opportunity to grab a Manchester Evening News, now distributed free throughout the city centre. I was wrong.

One hundred and fifty thousand people commute into Manchester city centre. The Evening News aims to give away 50,000 copies. It’s five o’clock, so one in three of these people (who will have walked from all over the city) should be carrying a copy.

But the Manchester Evening News is nowhere to be seen.

WHSmith, the only newsagent on the station, told me to walk into town; they’re not taking part in the giveaway. And neither is anyone else.
This posted via mobile via Flickr and so not so closely proofread. Click the pic to see it large (there’s an ‘all-sizes’ tab for really large).
