Raspberry doughnut sugar rush

Click to see ‘Raspberry doughnut sugar rush’ in a variety of different sizesJust 11p from Sainsbury’s. I used to work in an office where we were well into doughnuts. One day one of the secretaries warned us that she’d seen something that would put us off doughnuts for life.

‘Wow,’ we said. ‘Do tell.’

But she made us eat them first. Them came the revelation:

‘They take some dough, which is full of sugar, and roll it in a ball. Then they inject jam, which is just sugar with a small amount of fruit for flavour. Then they deep fry it so it’s full of fat. Then they roll it in sugar.’

Yum! We nipped out for more.
This posted via mobile via Flickr and so not so closely proofread. Click the pic to see it large (there’s an ‘all-sizes’ tab for really large).
