Sakara Gold, Egypt’s quality beer

Click to see ‘Sakara Gold, Egypt's quality beer’ in a variety of different sizesThis is one of my last Egyptian lagers for a little while. This year’s plan was to do nothing but bake in the sun and we’ve managed that pretty well (though Katharine’s not so pleased with her tanlines).

It was also an experiment with the all-inclusive concept. I’ve been allowed as much Sakara Gold as I like, but even though it’s a respectable four per cent, it doesn’t get you drunk. It’s an okay lager, certainly better than an American Bud, say.

All in all, it’s been a great holiday. Faultless. The snorkling is fantastic. We’ll almost certainly return for a fortnight soon to make time for an excursion to Luxor and we may even look into learning to dive beforehand.

But now we’re on to the long wait. The hotel’s on the edge of Sharm El Sheikh Airport: I could have photographed planes on the apron with a lonely armed guard sitting under a brolly at the perimeter fence, but I’ve a feeling that’s frowned upon.

We could walk to the terminal at a push, but must instead wait a couple of hours for a coach to take us there a couple of hours before take-off.
This posted via mobile via Flickr and so not so closely proofread. Click the pic to see it large (there’s an ‘all-sizes’ tab for really large).
