Pan’s Labyrinth (El Laberinto del Fauno): films reviewed in 50 words-ish

Don’t be misled into expecting an SFX-driven fairytale. The psychological horror of Pan’s Labyrinth is all too real. A surprisingly good, at times harrowing, portrayal of a young girl coping with her sickly mother’s remarriage to a fascist charged with finishing off the remains of Spanish civil war resistance.
A magnificent 10 out of 10.
Director: Guillermo del Toro……Starring: Ivana Baquero……Sergi López
