Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.

There is unlikely to be a more tragic sight than Sir Cliff Richard covering Leo Sayer’s ‘When I Need You’ and coming across like the runner-up in an unpopular kareoke competition.

Fifteen years ago it might have made it to Radio 2’s play list, but now Sir Cliff Richard is reduced to relying on a few loyal grannies.

How can anyone stand so firmly in the midde of the road for so long without being run over?
