Julianne Moore is superb as socialite Barbara Daly Baekeland, a woman destroyed by her own decadence. Yet while Savage Grace is presented as the story of the mother, it is really about the son, Tony, that killed her and he’s not that interesting. The result is beautifully shot but slow and, despite the sex, soporific.
A sleepy 5 out of 10.
