All Saints comeback

I’m going to put my head on the block and proclaim that All Saints’ Saints & Sinners is the greatest pop album of all time. Five years on (a long time in pop) it sounds as fresh as ever. Pop is the most ephemeral of genres, yet this album has a timeless quality. So it was great to discover via Chris Molyes that the girls are back.

I need to hear Rock Steady again, but on one listen it’s clearly streets ahead of Appleton (the result of the sisters mistakenly thinking that pretty girls harmonising is all that’s needed). All Saints works so well because it’s pretty girls harmonising well written songs one of them has created.
