Films in 50 words-ish: American Splendor

Buy it!2004 hit the ground running with this inspired biography that says turn to these comics for a taste of real American life and goes on to define just what’s real. Inevitably, Pekar is as atypical as everyone else and the frequent discontinuity of the narrative makes for an innovative exploration of identity.

A splendid 8.5 out of 10
