I mean, what if the police got to 42 days and didn&#039;t have the information they needed? Once you&#039;ve conceded that the police should be free to detain people without trial, the logical conclusion is that they should be able to do so indefinetly. What if they got to 365 days, had to release someone who then went on to (insert nightmare scenario)??!!!I&#039;d love to see McKenzie having to defend himself from being called soft on terror - he&#039;d have to use the same arguments Davis is going to deploy.
