Japan’s highest grossing movie takes Alice in Wonderland and makes it that little bitter weirder. Still a children’s film – a young girl’s adventure filled with magical flights over a Japan whose futuristic ecology’s gone wrong – but wonderful.
An outstanding 9 out of 10.
Director: Hayao Miyazaki
